This is a useful little antique cabinet dating to the late 19th century.
It is fairly compact and ideal for use in an alcove or a room with limited space.
It has a rustic and bohemian look which will suit a house with character.
The cabinet would have once had doors, these have been removed long ago and it now serves as a useful display unit for books or treasured items.
To the front is a single drawer with a stylized fruit handle, this is set over an open display area fitted with a single removable shelf. The cabinet is finished with a deep base plinth at the bottom and a small back plate to the top.
I have hand painted this piece in a mid green colour before heavily distressing the paintwork and finishing with dark wax to add some depth and character.
It is generally in solid condition with various marks of age and use.
