Vintage Japanese Hibachi
This is a nice modern example of a traditional Japanese Hibachi dating to the late 20th century.
The Hibachi is well made from solid wood and is fairly low, an unusual and striking piece which will provide a statement in any room. It could be used as a coffee table but also for its intended use.
The Hibachi is traditionally used to provide heat and also for use as a stove, this one has two copper containers for charcoal, the main one finished with a glass lid, the smaller one covered with a wooden lid. The copper containers can be removed.
The table is set on curved feet decorated with brass detailing and the front is fitted with three narrow drawers.
The wood has a highly polished finish with a nice sheen.
This piece is in solid structural condition with various small marks of age and use. There are a few small dents and scratches here and there to the wood and some small marks to the glass.
The measurements are taken at the widest points.
