Vintage Indian Cabinet with Iron Railway Insert Door

  • £295.00

This is an unusual narrow and fairly tall cabinet which originates from India.

It is perfect for an alcove, a useful piece which could be used as a drinks cabinet or for storing other small items.

We have two of these cabinets, the other is paler in colour.

Made of Indian hardwood the cabinet is heavy and solid, the front fitted with a single narrow door inset with an old cast iron grill which is supposedly from an Indian railway station.

The door has two wooden toggles to keep it closed and the cupboard interior is fitted with a single fixed shelf.

The wood has a natural waxed finish.

This piece is in good structural condition but is quite rustic looking as with most pieces of old Indian furniture. There is a chip of wood missing to the front left hand side of the shelf.
