Victorian Gothic Oak & Mahogany Dining Table with Heavily Carved Legs
This is an impressive Victorian table which dates to the latter half of the 19th century.
It is a rather grand and gothic piece which looks as though it belongs in a rustic lodge house on the edge of a country estate.
Made of solid oak and mahogany the table is very heavy, solid and well made. It can seat four people easily, possibly up to six at a squeeze and will make a nice setting for family meals.
The table is rectangular and is set on bulbous mahogany legs which are heavily carved with acanthus leaves.
The legs are terminate with their original slightly inset large ceramic castors.
The top is made of solid oak and is a beautiful warm brown which contrasts well against the darker colour of the legs.
The wood has a waxed finish which has a nice natural looking sheen.
height to bottom of table top-66cms
The table is in solid structural condition with various marks of age and use. The bottom of the legs have some areas of damage where the wood has been chipped away, please see the photographs.
