Unusual Antique Oak Corner Chair

  • £135.00

This is a handsome antique corner chair which dates to the mid to late 1800s.

The chair is made from oak and is an unusual and quirky piece of country furniture which will look good in a hallway or kitchen. It has an evocative look like something taken from an old pirates tavern.

The chair has a wide seat, curved armrests and back, inset with two decorative splats.
The front of the chair sits on a thick cabriole style leg and the other three legs are simple block legs.

The wood is a warm dark oak colour with a lovely polished finish.

height-seat 39.5cms, armrests 76cms, top of backrest 79.5cms
width-70cms to outer arms, 60cms seat
seat depth-61cms
depth front to back-70cms

The chair is in solid structural condition with various small repairs and cosmetic marks of age and use.

Two of the splats have repairs and the legs have been dowelled to make them sturdy and solid as they were a little wobbly. There are a few old wood worm holes to the top of the back rest at the rear.
