Small Vintage Gothic Black Painted Display Cabinet with Adjustable Shelves
This is a useful little vintage display cabinet which dates to the mid 20th century.
It is a compact piece which is perfect for displaying curios and small treasured items.
The cabinet has double glazed doors to the front which open to reveal three removable and adjustable shelves which sit on brass shelf supports.
The cabinet is set on shaped feet and the glass to the doors is leaded.
I have hand painted the exterior of the cabinet in my own mix of water based black paint before distressing the finish for an aged look. The paintwork is solid colour and has been waxed for protection, the finish has a lovely sheen.
The cabinet interior has been painted in a contrasting pale blue grey paint.
The cabinet is designed to be use floor standing but would benefit from being secured to the wall as the doors are fairly heavy and make the cabinet tip forward if both doors are open at the same time. There are two holes to the back of the cabinet to allow it to be screwed to the wall.
The cabinet is in solid structural condition with various small marks here and there.
One of the feet is missing a couple of sections of wood near the back which isn't obvious from the front.
The top and feet have some old filled wood worm holes.
