Pitch Pine Doctors Couch
This is a rare doctors or psychiatrists examination bench which dates to the mid Victorian era.
The bench is made of solid pitch pine and is heavy and well made, a comfortable piece of furniture which has stood the test of time.
It is set on thick turned baluster legs which are finished with old castors and the front is fitted with two drawers.
The top of the bench is covered in thick beige coloured nubuck leather, this is a later replacement.
The bench has a lift up back rest at one end which can be adjusted in height.
In generally good condition, there are small marks and dents to the wooden base and the leather has some small natural marks and areas of wear.
The measurements are taken at the widest points.
