Pine Kitchen Dresser with Open Shelves
This is a handsome Victorian pine dresser which dates to around 1880.
It is heavy and solid but has the benefit of splitting into two parts making it easy to transport and position in any home. The dresser has a rustic country look which will suit a farmhouse or cottage, the perfect piece if you love well aged pine.
The dresser base has double panelled doors set under two spacious drawers finished with brass drop handles set on decorative back plates. The doors open to reveal a useful fixed shelf for storage.
The top of the dresser is fitted with open waterfall shelving which gets deeper towards the top and the shelves have beading to display plates.
The dresser is set on a shaped base plinth and the top has a scalloped front apron.
The wood has a darkly waxed finish which has a nice sheen.
The dresser is in generally good structural condition with many small marks of age and use to the wood. There is evidence of old historical woodworm damage and some areas of old filler here and there. There are various other marks and stains to the wood which give it a lot of character.
