Painted Black Display Cabinet Bookcase
This is a useful antique display cabinet which dates to the early 20th century.
Made of mahogany and mixed woods this piece is ideal for use in a lounge, dining room or kitchen, perfect for use as a book case or for displaying treasured items.
The cabinet is quite well made and solid with two glazed doors to the front which open to reveal three removable and adjustable wooden shelves which sit on wooden shelf supports.
The doors are lockable and the key is present.
The cabinet is set on squat bun feet and the top front edge has an applied carved detail.
I have hand painted the exterior in my own mix of chalk based black paint, the interior has been painted in a constrasting pale grey. The paintwork has been lightly distressed and then waxed for protection, it has a smooth low sheen finish.
The cabinet is generally in good structural condition with minor cosmetic marks of age and use. There are some dents and small scratches below the painted finish on the top and four of the shelf supports are later replacements.
