Narrow Black Display Cabinet Bookcase
This is a useful two part vintage display cabinet which dates to the mid 20th century.
Made of mahogany and mixed woods this piece is ideal for use in a lounge, dining room or kitchen, perfect for use as a small book case or for displaying treasured items.
The cabinet is quite well made but fairly lightweight, a reproduction antique piece with a single glazed door to the top which opens to reveal two removable wooden shelves which sit on brass shelf supports.
To the base is a solid door set under two narrow drawers.
The key shown is purely ornamental, the original working key has been lost somewhere in time so we have added internal catches to keep the doors closed.
The cabinet is set on bracket feet and the top of the cabinet is finished with dentil mould cornicing.
I have hand painted the exterior in my own mix of chalk based black paint, the interior has been painted in a constrasting pale grey. The paintwork has been lightly distressed and then waxed for protection, it has a smooth low sheen finish.
The cabinet is generally in good structural condition with minor cosmetic marks of age and use. There are some dents and small scratches below the painted finish.
The original key has been lost, the one shown is ornamental and will be included in the sale.
