Low Antique Chinese Ming Dynasty Style Altar Table
This is a useful antique Ming Dynasty style Chinese low altar table dating to the late 19th century.
The table is made of elm and is perfect for use as a console table or perhaps an occasional bench.
It is has narrow mitred top with visible mortise and tenon joints set over a humpback stretchered base finished with horse hoof feet.
The brown lacquered finish has worn over time and has given a lovely aged patina which is full of character.
The table is in solid structural condition.
It is a bit wonky, leaning to one side, but it quite solid and stable.
The top has some small filled areas and is very characterful and aged looking.
If using as a bench I would say it may be better only for occasional use.
