Golden Oak Roll Top Writing Desk, Scandanavian A B Bobin & Mobelfabriken
This is a handsome golden oak roll top desk which dates to the 1950s.
Made by 'A B Bobin & Mobelfabriken' this desk is a rare Scandanavian piece which is very solid, heavy and well made. It is large and rather masculine, an attractive vintage statement piece for an office or study.
The desk has the benefit of splitting into four parts and will be sent out disassembled for easy transportation.
It has a large lockable roll top which opens to reveal an arrangement of pigeon holes for stationery and correspondence.
Each large pedestal houses a useful pull out writing leaf and deep spacious drawers which surround a further central drawer. The pedestals are set on old metal castors so the desk can be moved about easily.
There are two keys present to lock the desk, the top needs to be pushed all the way open to allow an internal mechanism to engage which unlocks the drawers.
The wood has a polished finish which has a good amount of age and character.
