Continental Pine Linen Press Larder
This is a handsome continental pine linen press wardrobe which dates to around 1860. It is well sized and is one solid piece although the doors and shelves can be removed for transportation. It has a provincial country look which will suit a farmhouse or large cottage, the perfect piece if you love well aged pine.
The linen press offers plenty of storage space for linens, clothes and bedding, it could also be used as a kitchen larder and looks rather nice with the doors removed, as shown.
The front is fitted with deeply panelled doors which have small drop metal handles and decorative mouldings.
The interior is fitted with three removable pine shelves.
The wood has a natural looking waxed finish which has an beautiful sheen.
The linen press is in solid structural condition and has a well aged look with many small marks here and there. The wood inside has historical wood worm evidence, mainly to the left hand door and the back panels, this is long inactive but we have treated it as a precaution. The back of wardrobe has a small replacement piece of wood to one of the panels and some old wood worm damage, any soft and damaged wood has been removed or treated.
