Art Nouveau Black Painted Sideboard Chiffonier Dresser with Mirrored Top
This is an attractive and useful Art Nouveau antique sideboard which dates to the end of the 19th century.
Made of oak and mixed woods it is solid, well made and rather decorative, a useful storage piece for a lounge, kitchen or dining room.
The sideboard comes in two parts, the base is fitted with two carved panelled doors which open to reveal a cupboard with fixed shelf. Set over the cupboard are two wide drawers offering storage space for cutlery, paperwork or linens. The doors have attractive carved lozenges and decorative Art Nouveau hinges.
The top of the dresser has an ornate mirrored top fitted with shelves and finished with pierced sides.
I have hand painted this piece in my own mix of black paint before distressing the finish for a gently aged look and waxing the paintwork for protection. The interior has been left in the natural wood.
The paintwork is solid colour with a smooth low sheen finish.
The sideboard is in good structural condition, there are small marks here and there to the wood, a few dents to the top but nothing too major to spoil its look.
One of the drawers has a large ink stain to the base.
height - 92.5cms
width - 122cms
The measurements are taken at the widest points, the sideboard splits into two parts. The mirrored top will be removed for transportation.
