Antique Writing Table with Painted Duck Egg Base and Drawer
This is a useful antique table which dates to the 1800s. It's a rather quirky piece which was once part of a large dining table.
Made of mahogany and mixed woods the table could serve a variety of purposes in any home, it would be ideal for use as a writing table or perhaps in a hallway as a console table.
The table is simply styled with a D shaped top set on tall turned legs which are finished with antique castors.
The base has been painted in a lovely dusky blue green colour before being distressed and then waxed. The paintwork is solid colour and has a smooth low sheen finish. The top has been stripped back to the natural wood and waxed for protection.
This table is generally in solid structural condition with various small marks to the wood here and there.
