Antique Victorian Pine Washstand with marble top & mirror

  • £445.00

This is a charming antique wash stand which dates to the late 1800s.

Made of solid pine and marble the wash stand is fairly heavy and well made with a country look which will suit a cottage. It is a perfect piece if you love aged Victorian pine and would be ideal for a bedroom but could also be adapted to house a bowl type sink in a bathroom.

The chest has four spacious pine drawers which are finished with brass coloured drop handles set on decorative back plates.

To the left hand side is a small cupboard.

The top of the washstand is set with a piece of heavy white marble to the left finished with an ornate tiled back plate. To the right is a removable pine framed swing mirror.

The wood has a naturally waxed finish which has a pleasant sheen.

This piece is in solid structural condition with various small marks of age and use to the wood and a couple of shrinkage cracks here and there.

The drawer interiors are in fairly clean condition.

The top has some marks to the wood including a ring mark.

The mirror has lost one of its brass fixing pegs to the back so there is a screw in place holding the mirror.
