Antique Small Cabinet with Shell Inlay
This is a handsome little antique table top or floor standing cabinet which is ideal for use in a bathroom or kitchen. It is quite compact and could be used as a medicine or herb cabinet.
The cabinet dates to the late 1800s and is made of mahogany and mixed woods, it has clean and elegant lines and an evocative look well suited to an antique setting.
The cabinet has a single door to the front which opens to reveal two narrow shelves and an old piece of paper to the door indicating that it was once used to store medicines.
Set over the door is a pretty inlay in a shell design and the cabinet is set on bracket feet.
The door has a lock but sadly the key has been lost, the one shown is purely decorative to help open the door.
The wood has a nicely wax polished finish.
The cabinet has various small marks of age and use.
There has been a small patch repair to the veneer near the door lock and there are small marks and knocks to the wood here and there.
