Antique Painted Blue Harmonium Pump Organ
This is an antique harmonium which could serve a variety of uses in any home.
It would work well as a small console table in a hallway or perhaps as a drinks stand in a dining room or office, a 'Barmonium' rather than a 'Harmonium'.
The harmonium is solid and well made from mahogany and mixed woods.
To the top is a lift up lid which opens to reveal bone and ebony keys and a makers label.
The harmonium has two pedals which are pumped to operate the bellows at the back, it does work but there is a slight fault with the upper keys which don't all work properly. A strange whistling sound ensues once you begin playing the top notes, this could be an issue with the bellows, I'm not really sure.
I have painted this piece in a dusky blue which I call 'Poets Blue', the paintwork has been distressed and then colour glazed to give an aged look.
The harmonium is in solid structural condition.
As to the playing of it, well it could do with some attention from someone who knows a bit about these type of instruments.
