Antique Limed Oak Display Cabinet
This is a handsome antique wall cabinet which dates to the 1800s.
Made of limed oak the cabinet is solid, very heavy and well made with double glazed doors to the front.
The doors open to reveal a single removable and adjustable shelf which sits on wooden batons set into the sides of the interior.
Above the doors there are three compartments for books or display and the cabinet is finished with shaped cornicing. The cabinet is beautifully carved and is very rustic, it looks like it has been cut from an old galleon ship and has an evocative look well suited to anyone who loves quirky well aged furniture.
The wood has a lovely bleached or limed finish which is very rustic and characterful.
The cabinet is in good structural condition with various cosmetic marks and areas of wear here and there.
The shelf may be a later addition and the key is purely decorative.
It is a heavy piece which will need large brackets to attach it to a strong wall.
The measurements are taken at the widest points.
