This is a handsome chest of drawers which dates to the late 1800s.
Made of mahogany, mixed woods and veneers it is an elegant and useful storage piece for a bedroom, a large country house style piece which has a lot of character.
The chest is in solid structural condition for its age and will provide a good amount of storage in any home.
The chest has a blind frieze drawer to the top which is set over three spacious graduated drawers finished with turned wooden handles. The drawers run well and the interiors are in clean condition.
The drawers are flanked by half barley twist pillars surmounted with carved flowers.

CONDITION
The chest is generally in good structural condition with many small cosmetic marks of age and use. The top has various marks and scratches below the polished finish and a couple of shrinkage cracks on the left hand side. There are some small losses to the veneer on the front of the chest and some small repairs here and there to the interior of the carcass.
To the base there is some damage to the wood above the feet.
