Antique Large Rustic Boatyard Chic Stripped Pine Chest of Drawers
This is a handsome large antique pine chest of drawers which dates to the 19th century.
I love this piece, it has a very rustic and aged look, like it was rescued from an old boatyard and scrubbed up a bit.
It will suit anyone who loves well worn old furniture with a tale to tell.
Made from solid pine the chest is quite heavy, solid and well made, the front fitted with an arrangement of five drawers which are all finished with turned wooden handles.
The chest is set on unusual turned feet and the wood has a stripped and very distressed looking finish which is quite matt.
It is a useful piece of antique furniture which offers plenty of storage space for any room.
109cms high x 107.5cms wide x 49cms deep(not including the handles)
The chest is generally in solid structural condition with many cosmetic marks of age and use.
The best way to describe the finish is to say that it has been stripped at some point and some remnants of the previous finish remain, especially to one side panel.
There is a repaired shrinkage crack to the top of the chest and various areas of filler. The drawer interiors are in fairly clean condition and the drawers run quite well despite some wear to the runners.
There is no active wood worm.
Generally it is rather rustic and full of character.
