Antique Irish Kitchen Dressser with Glazed Top
This is a quirky antique Irish dresser which dates to the mid 1800s.
Made of solid pine it is fairly heavy and solid but has the benefit of splitting into two parts making it easy to transport and position in any home.
This piece has a rustic country look which will suit a farmhouse or cottage, the perfect piece if you love very well aged pine.
The base has two spacious drawers which are finished with white ceramic knobs. The drawers are set over three narrow panelled doors which open to reveal a shelved interior.
The top section has double glazed doors and an old painted interior which is a lovely teal blue/green colour.
The wood has a naturally waxed finish which has a low sheen.
It is a very rustic and unusual piece of furniture which has a lot of character.
CONDITION
This piece is in solid structural condition with many, many marks of age and use to the wood. There is a lot of evidence of old historical woodworm and various other marks and stains to the wood which give it a lot of character. There are little chips and dents to the wood and the painted interior has a lot of wear, an ink stain and various other marks. Two of the knobs are damaged and there is a metal brace to the inside of one door.
It is a very rustic and well aged piece.
