Antique Far Eastern Carved Octagonal Table with Dragons
This is an attractive antique table which dates to the early 20th century. I am unsure of its origin but the carvings suggest thay it may be Indonsesian.
The table is made of solid wood and is well made and fairly heavy.
The top is octagonal and profusely carved, it can be removed from the base by pulling out three flat pegs on the underside of the table top.
The base of the table is very ornate with a central carved column surrounded by three carved supports featuring dragons, birds and foliage.
The wood has a very aged finish which over time has developed an appearance which is similar to rusted metal.
CONDITION
The table is in solid condition with many marks of age and use.
There are several small losses to the carvings and the top has variations in colour.
The base has faded over time.
It is basically rather aged and bohemian looking.
