Antique Early 19th Century Coach Passenger Foot Warmer

This is quite a rare little thing dating to the early 19th century, a portable foot warmer.
Designed for use by coach passengers on traditional horse drawn carriages this useful little item was used to warm the feet on long cold journeys.
The foot warmer is made of wood and has a lift up lid which opens to reveal a removable tin container, this would have been filled with hot water.
The lid is covered is faded tapestry fabric which has worn over the years.
The footwarmer is set on stubby little feet and the front has a small catch and handle.
The wood has a waxed finish.
This item is very well aged, the tin insert has dents and knocks and the fabric lid is well worn and aged looking.
