Antique 18th century Country Oak Chest of Drawers in 2 parts
This is a charming antique chest which dates to the 18th century.
Made of oak the chest is solid and heavy but has the benefit of splitting into two parts which makes it very easy to transport and place into any home, even one with limited space.
The chest has a country look which will suit a cottage or farmhouse.
The front is fitted with an arrangement of seven spacious drawers which are finished with brass drop handles and oval escutcheons, the original drawer locks are present but sadly we don't have a key.
The base is set on bracket feet and the top has a moulded edge.
The wood has a natural looking waxed finish which is quite matt.
This piece is in solid structural condition with many small marks of age and use to the wood.
The drawer interiors are quite rustic with shrinkage gaps to the bases and the chest has various repairs here and there.
The top is well aged with a lot of marks and some old ink stains.
The side panels have filled shrinkage cracks.
The measurements are taken at the widest points.
