Made of oak the chest is solid and heavy with profuse carvings to the top and sides and faint decorative etching to the top edges.
The chest is the size of a narrow blanket chest and could be used in any room for storage and display purposes. It is set on bracket feet and the top is fitted with a lockable lift up lid, there is a replacement key which works well.

To either side the chest is fitted with a twisted brass drop handle.
The wood has a natural waxed finish.
The chest is in good structural condition with various cosmetic marks and knocks here and there to the wood. The etched design to the top has worn away over time.
