American Primitive Stepback Pine Housekeepers Cupboard Larder

  • £1,800.00

A fantastic American stepback cupboard which dates to the early to mid 1800s.

The cupboard is one solid piece, made of thick pine and is very heavy and well made with four lift off panelled doors to the front which are set on handmade pewter Rat Tail hinges.

The cupboard has its original blue casein paint(milk paint) finish which has worn well over the years and has a low sheen waxed finish

The dresser is in generally good structural condition with various marks of age and use to the wood. The door locks are missing and the shelves are later replacements, made from Victorian pine.

Basically it is well aged and rustic but rather smashing.
