Antique Art Deco Wellington Chest
This is a handsome Wellington chest which dates to the early 20th century.
Made of mahogany and mixed woods this piece was originally designed for use as a collectors chest but in modern times could serve a variety of purposes in any home.
The chest belonged to a Devon station master and is Art Deco is style, the front fitted with eight narrow drawers which are all finished with later turned wooden handles. The drawers are flanked by wooden keepers, the left one has a lock but sadly the key has been lost.
The chest is set on a slanted base plinth and the chest is finished with richly figured veneers.
The wood has a polished finish which has a lovely sheen.
The chest is in solid structural condition with quite a few minor marks of age and use.
The handles are later replacements, the lock key is missing and there are various small losses to the veneer along the base plinth.

drawers measures 8cms high x 34cms wide x 31.5cms deep
